About Mahesh Patel
Mahesh (FCA) qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 with Rees Pollock, a firm closely connected to EY. Post qualification, he moved into industry, heading up the finance function in the SME sector.
Background
Mahesh has always had a strong interest in property, and in 1995 bought his first buy to let investment in partnership with his university friend. The plan was to acquire residential rental properties as part of a long term pension plan. When the buy to let market began to mature in the late 1990s, the strategy evolved to “Build to Let” schemes inorder to maintain margin. With this change, Mahesh left employment in 2001 and founded Jenga, to further expand the ‘Build to let’ strategy.
